The goal of this project was to design a performative wearable that explores the boundaries of the body and mind when pushed to their limits. Inspired by practices such as the Wim Hof Method, neurogenic tremors, and Marina Abramović’s performances, we aimed to create a garment that would not only measure and visualize physical strain but also embody the tension between vulnerability and strength. Through ice bathing and other limit-challenging activities, we investigated how wearables can guide individuals in extreme situations, revealing the dialogue between body, mind, and environment.

The outcome is a shoulder and neck wearable crafted from metal, designed to resemble both armor and animalistic defense mechanisms that expand the body’s presence. Integrated with muscle sensors, it visualizes the body’s tension under stress, transforming invisible effort into a performative experience. By merging raw materials with biometric data, the wearable communicates resilience while offering a sense of protection and empowerment. The project culminated in a live performance, where the piece functioned as both an expressive object and a tool for exploring human endurance and connection.
